NablaFlow released AeroCloud, a state-of-the-art high-performance computing based CFD platform. The tool offers users an automated and streamlined way to run their simulations.

Aerodynamic simulation used to be a complex, time-consuming process that required highly-specialized and highly-trained experts. Moreover, the results of these simulations were often difficult to interpret and apply. Because of this, companies and professionals used to spend a lot of their resources to gain relevant insights to feed into their product design. This is no longer the case.

We aimed to offer a more efficient way for professionals within these fields to get access to the results they need. We made it to be fast, accurate and comprehensive.

CFD technology provides a cost-effective solution for many industries

Automotive design, urban development, architecture, wind engineering, tunnel analysis, aerodynamics, and performance sports are all fields that have historically been limited by the expertise required to perform complex computations.

One major obstacle to using computational fluid dynamics to generate aerodynamic-friendly designs is the time and expense involved. The process of running a simulation not only used to be time-consuming but required the assistance of outside experts to get results. Calculations and data analysis came slowly. On average I used to spend one week getting a report done and delivering it.

Many professionals and non-professionals face challenges when they use CFD software. The biggest one is that it requires a lot of computing power, which many people don’t have access to or can’t afford. This can be complicated and costly. In-house talent able to learn the simulation software and with the right set of skills is highly expensive, so companies must look for outside help or hire new employees who can do CFD work. Another challenge is that CFD software runs on expensive licenses that don’t allow users to run unlimited simulations without financial repercussions. Finally, CFD output is complex and doesn’t always provide standard results output, making it difficult to compare more simulations.

When I used to run CFD simulations in the past, the process was slow and tedious. Now with AeroCloud, it takes as little as 30 seconds to upload a model and 30 seconds to set it up, with results available in 10-12 hours. Resources spent are minimal compared to the previous process. The time spent is reduced by 80 or 90 percent by using the tool.

A tool to build, visualize and analyze computational fluid dynamics models on the cloud

With AeroCloud, professionals with different backgrounds can cut through the uncertainty and get the answers they need faster than ever before. It allows them to focus on their work instead of wasting time on computational grunt work.

The time required to run one or a thousand simulations in parallel can be achieved within the exact time frames of a few hours. Running comparisons between different wind simulations is now faster than ever, and the level of consistency within results and their final output is impeccable.

With the help of our tool, the users do not need to spend time in setting up the model and tuning the CFD solver, do not need to spend time optimizing the mesh, and do not need to buy or use workstations or datacenters to run the simulations. The uploaded models are safely transferred to AWS and the results are presented on a webpage.

AeroCloud provides a powerful solution for these challenges through its ability to automatically assemble complex models from their constituent parts and accurately simulate them over a wide range of parameters. It allows the users to setup any model within seconds. Multiple parts and multiple models can be uploaded in a very quick and fast way. Multiple yaw angles can run simultaneously:

  • HPC based
  • Fully automated
  • Easy to use/simple setup
  • Scalable
  • Does not require CFD knowledge
  • Full reporting
  • Consistency in setup and reporting

Get one tool to change how you simulate aerodynamic forces and improve your product’s performance

The tool can be a game-changer for anyone who needs to run external aerodynamic simulations. We know how much time this type of work can take—and we also know how often it comes up in your workday. That’s why we made AeroCloud as simple to use as possible, with different options.

Additionally, we’ve tried to accommodate all kinds of users by providing tailored options for various budgets and use cases. For example, if you’re looking for more than two simulations but not enough for an annual subscription, we have a pay-as-you-go option. Or if you’re just getting started and don’t want to commit to anything long-term, we can offer you two simulations for free.

AeroCloud will change how you do business by helping you get more done faster than before.
