Negative ground offset

It is now possible to apply a negative offset to the ground plane when a simulation is submitted.

Simply enter a negative number in the ground offset entry box to shift the ground plane upwards. Any part of the geometry model below the ground plane will then be clipped, and discarded in the simulation.

Some possible use cases for this feature are:

  • Small adjustments of vehicle ride height without changing the geometry model.
  • Simulating partly submerged bodies.
  • Using ground as a symmetry plane setting the slip boundary condition.
