Symmetry plane
Twice the cells for the same compute budget.

When your geometry and the expected flow are symmetric, you can simulate only half the model. The same cell budget then covers half the domain, so you get twice the cells for the same compute budget. Results are mirrored back to the full 3D model for post-processing, and forces - global and per part - already account for the complete model.
How to use it
You can toggle where to place the symmetry plane:
- center: use this when you have the full CAD model. The symmetry plane is placed in the middle of the model; facing into the wind (looking towards the negative x axis), only the left half is kept and simulated — the right half is reconstructed by mirroring.
- left / right: use this when you already have a half CAD model rather than the full model. The symmetry plane is placed at the left or right outer edge of the geometry, and the whole geometry is mirrored outward to reconstruct the missing half — choose left or right to match which half your CAD file represents.
Yaw angle will be frozen at 0.0.
Seeing the results
Once the simulation is complete you can visualize the 3d flow fields and slices.
Forces and moments (global and per part) already account for the complete 3D model, no manual calculation needed.
