Flow monitors allow you to quantify the airflow passing through any surface in your model, providing precise measurements for intake, exhaust, and internal cooling paths. Select a surface, specify whether you require volumetric flow rate (m³/s) or mass flow rate (kg/s), and AeroCloud reports the corresponding value for every simulated yaw angle alongside your aerodynamic results.
How to use it
- Upload your model as usual and open the parts list.
- Locate the surface you wish to measure and change its type from Normal to Flow monitor.
- Select the quantity to measure:
- Volumetric flow rate — the volume of air per second (m³/s)
- Mass flow rate — the mass of air per second (kg/s)
You may define as many flow monitors as required.
Seeing the results
Once your simulation completes, you can:
- View a dedicated Flow monitors table
- Switch the display mode to Flow monitors to visualise the monitored surfaces directly on your 3D model.
