Measure airflow through any surface — volumetric (m³/s) or mass (kg/s) flow rate.

Flow monitors allow you to quantify the airflow passing through any surface in your model, providing precise measurements for intake, exhaust, and internal cooling paths. Select a surface, specify whether you require volumetric flow rate (m³/s) or mass flow rate (kg/s), and AeroCloud reports the corresponding value for every simulated yaw angle alongside your aerodynamic results.

How to use it

  1. Upload your model as usual and open the parts list.
  2. Locate the surface you wish to measure and change its type from Normal to Flow monitor.
  3. Select the quantity to measure:
    • Volumetric flow rate — the volume of air per second (m³/s)
    • Mass flow rate — the mass of air per second (kg/s)

You may define as many flow monitors as required.

Seeing the results

Once your simulation completes, you can:

  • View a dedicated Flow monitors table

  • Switch the display mode to Flow monitors to visualise the monitored surfaces directly on your 3D model.
