Ceiling support
AeroCloud now supports a ceiling plane as a third boundary option.
Simulations can now be configured with a ceiling plane, adding a third boundary option alongside the existing ground and free-stream setups.
With a ground plane, a solid wall is set at the base of the domain, useful for simulating objects operating close to a surface.
With a free stream setup, the model will be placed far from the boundaries.
With ceiling, a solid wall boundary is set at the top of the domain, mirroring the effect of the ground plane but on the opposite side.
This can be useful for example to simulate geometries like the underwater part of a boat hull.
How to use it
Open the Simulation creation page and locate the boundary conditions section.
You will now find three options for Domain Boundary: None, Ground, and Ceiling.
Select Ceiling to activate the upper wall boundary. The ceiling position is determined automatically based on your model and then can be moved to match the desired location with respect to the model. The boundary condition can be configured, as for the ground, to be slip or moving.
