Parts refinement

Parts refinement lets you focus your cell budget on specific parts, for sharper results where it counts.

You can now control exactly where your mesh cell budget goes. Parts refinement lets you mark individual parts as priority regions, AeroCloud will then automatically allocate a greater share of the total cell budget to those parts during meshing.

This means you no longer need to sacrifice resolution across your entire geometry to get more accurate representation of specific areas. Instead, you can tighten the mesh precisely on the aerodynamically sensitive surfaces that matter most.

How to use it

Open the Simulation creation page and enable refinement for any parts you want to prioritize. Be selective, marking non-critical parts as priority regions can negatively affect results by allocating cells where higher resolution isn’t needed. No changes to the total cell budget are required; the software redistributes cells automatically.

Seeing the results

Once the simulation completes, refined regions are highlighted in the Parts plot, giving you a clear visual breakdown of mesh resolution across all components.
